Ryan works with a specific training method called “Functional Patterns”. It’s a concept takes an integrative approach to health, a practice it centers itself around altering biomechanics (movement) towards a more functional (economized) direction. Basically, this method helps you to learn how to move more efficiently and without any pain.

FP is focused on movement patterns that have a purpose. That purpose can be related to getting better at everyday activities—like walking or running, squatting to pick up, or preparing to compete in a sport. A functional workout is simply one that strengthens you in a particular way that directly translates to an activity outside the gym.
